Together with our diverse set of levels, these properties make BeamNG.tech the ideal platform to develop ADAS as well as highly realistic driver’s training applications. The modding system allows anyone to customize various components of the simulation, be it the vehicle models, assets, scenarios, or the user interaction. The soft-body physics approach allows to faithfully simulate the kinematic properties of our vehicle models and leads to a realistic replication of their driving behavior. BeamNG.tech stands out among the several available driving platforms through its custom soft-body physics engine, detailed modeling of the vehicle subsystems, and high degree of adaptability. ADAS researchers and developers use BeamNG.tech as a platform for model-in-the-loop testing and development. To be able to return the game on Steam, you must meet the following conditions: Less than 2 hours of play time The purchase must not be older than 14 days Note that refunds for Steam. This can be used to evaluate the game in its current version. Driver’s training applications are supported by an immersive simulation environment that can easily be adapted by the distributor to match the desired user interface and vehicle type. Our partner stores (Steam and Humble Bundle) provide the ability to return / refund the game, for any reason, within certain conditions listed below. In short, if the physics were more usable, the environment destructible, and I had a computer that was at least twice as fast, This would be one of my most favorite games ever, and time plus the game being open to modders can easily fix all of those.Simulation platforms are critical components for the evaluation and development of driver’s training applications and intelligent algorithms for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). (aside from rigs of rods, but BeamNG is much more refined right now) Plus that answer's my personal question on why we may not have seen a game like this yet. I'd say anything more than a 4 car demo derby would be extremely difficult for anything less than a sandy bridge quad core. I also think that soft-body damage on the environment would be an awesome next step, But seeing as spawing only 5 vehicles including my own will bring my cpu utilization to %70 (stock 2600k) and my fps to the 30's then I see a small chance of that happening. To me at least the driving model doesn't seem to like high speeds in its current state.

If the physics get fixed/modded to be more practical then road racing would be loads of fun too. The places where I think this game will excel in its current state are off road and demolition derby. Though I haven't tried any mods yet there does seem to be some fixes from the communities for this. The sedan and the sports car are extremely tail happy and the van is slow. The pickup and the hatch back are the only ones I can do anything useful with.

To me the physics make some cars unplayable. Alright, I've mucked about a little with the alpha now.
